Three broke friends, the stooges, are on the verge of eviction when their wealthy Uncle Phineas arrives. They convince their landlady to spare them by claiming Shemp is set to inherit a fortune. However, things go awry when Shemp accidentally tears off a strongman's wife's dress, leading to a chaotic fight. In the end, Uncle Phineas marries their landlady, leaving the stooges with nothing.
