Michele Barresi, an Italian mobster, flees to Brooklyn after his rival's murder in Corleone. As his involvement is discovered, he targets the two people who can send him to prison: his assassin and his girlfriend. After the girlfriend is killed, Barresi's assassin, Salvatore Scalia, is arrested by Commissioner Berni. The plan is to transport Scalia from Palermo to New York to testify against Barresi, but the mafia intends to eliminate both Berni and Scalia before they can reach the court.
