For Those We Love

Japanese fighter pilots undergo rigorous training to master the art of kamikaze attacks, a deadly tactic designed to destroy enemy vessels by crashing their planes directly into them.

The Japanese military contemplates using suicide pilots to strike Allied shopping areas in the Pacific as the war turns against them. In southern Japan, rookie pilots arrive to prepare for their inaugural and final missions. Meanwhile, a local tavern owner offers solace and refuge to the pilots, despite the military's disapproval. The film explores the contrast between dying for Japan without truly experiencing its culture.
