Follow the Band background

Follow the Band

In this classic film, a humble farmer leaves his rural roots to pursue his dreams of stardom in the city, ultimately achieving fame and winning the heart of his neighbor's love interest.

Marvin Howe, a dairy farm hand, is more interested in playing his trombone than his duties, which leads to complications when he's engaged to Pop Turnbull's daughter, Juanita. His rival, Tate Winters, convinces Marvin to go to New York City on a wild goose chase to get Pop a membership in the Dairymen's Association, despite being rejected many times due to their goat-based farm.
