Flight Nurse background

Flight Nurse

A US Air Force nurse is stationed in Japan during the Korean War, flying C-47 transport planes to transport wounded servicemen from the battlefield.

The movie tells the story of Lillian Keil, a war hero and pioneering flight nurse who was part of the first group of flight nurses in the Army Air Corps. Lillian holds the distinction of being the most decorated woman in military history. Prior to her military career, she worked as a flight attendant for Pan Am and United Airlines, a rare opportunity at the time, as only nurses were employed by airlines.
