In the summer of 1957, a former racecar driver, Ferrari, faces financial ruin and a troubled marriage as his company teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. His wife, Laura, is a constant source of tension as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of one son and the reality of another. In a desperate bid to turn his fortunes around, Ferrari decides to take a risk and enter the prestigious Mille Miglia, a 1,000-mile race across Italy.
