Five friends, including George, Julian, Dick, Anne, and Timmy the dog, embark on their first holiday together without parents. They go on a bike ride that takes them to the legendary Cat Canyon, where they gather around a bonfire and share scary stories. George and Dick tell the tale of the 'Black Cat', a legendary thief who supposedly hid the world's largest diamonds, the green emerald, in the canyon. Suddenly, a figure emerges from the bushes - it's Hardy, a local boy who loves to show off his phone and quad. Despite their initial hesitation, the group soon becomes friends with Hardy, unaware that he's being followed by two crooks, Max and Fil.
