Dreaming Out Loud background

Dreaming Out Loud

In the heart of Arkansas, a general store becomes the hub of quirky misadventures for Lum and Abner, two lovable characters who find themselves entangled in a web of local eccentricities.

In the small town of Pineridge, Arkansas, Lum and Abner's General Store is the hub of activity, where everyone gathers. The post office, located within the store, is run by Alice, the niece of the town's wealthiest resident. Alice is deeply in love with Kenneth, the son of the local doctor, but their love is threatened by her aunt's long-standing feud with Kenneth's father. As Alice and Kenneth wait for the right moment to get married, they face financial struggles, as Kenneth's meager income as a doctor in the next town is insufficient to support a family. Meanwhile, the town's drunkard's daughter is tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident, leading the townspeople to convince the sheriff to appoint the father as a deputy, in a bid to boost his self-esteem.
