Elmer Whippet, the new owner of Whippet Pickles, is convinced that the on-air feuds between radio stars Mary Reynolds and John Stowe are genuine. Unbeknownst to him, his old associates Jules Kinsey and J.M. Snow have secretly replaced Mary with office secretary Susan Blair, and Paul Stevens, the show's writer, is mistaken for John.
