In a small town in South Italy where the entire population is over 80, Santilli opens a funeral agency in hopes of solving his financial struggles. Despite his best efforts, the old-timers refuse to die, leaving Santilli feeling discouraged and desperate. Just when he's at his lowest point, he contracts pneumonia during a harsh winter, and the tables are turned as the elderly townspeople take care of him, transforming their relationship from one based on mortality to one rooted in the hope of life.
