In the midst of the Vietnam War, Captain Norman Hopper's platoon rescues two American soldiers from a Vietnamese base, but not before they're forced to confront the gruesome reality of Charlie Bukowski and Tom Thompson, who have resorted to cannibalism. Years later, Norman's life begins to unravel as he's haunted by the traumatic experience, and his wife grows increasingly concerned about his mental health.
