A chronic gambler, "Little" Joe Jackson, is shot at a gambling club and nears death. His wife, Petunia, prays for his physical and eternal salvation. As he's dying, angels and demons make a deal with him: six months to atone for his mistakes. He won't remember the deal, but both sides will influence him, using the women in his life to sway him towards their side. Petunia represents the Lord, while Georgia Brown, a gold-digging woman, represents Lucifer. However, human judgment can thwart their plans.
