Through the heart of Asia, the Burma Road stretches from Rangood to Shanghai, serving as the lifeline for China's embattled Army, headquartered at Chungking. A stream of trucks, driven by skilled drivers, transport vital supplies including food, munitions, and guns to the defenders of China's ancient soil. The end of this highway is the bustling Burmese town of Lashio, which supplies the vital goods. The story follows the trucking of munitions to the Chinese Army under British direction, with some American involvement, but there is no mention of Japan. Instead, the parachute troops attempting to sabotage the convoy are identified as Chinese insurrectionists.
