In a small New Mexico town, a dedicated Marshal named Clay Morgan, known as "Black Patch" due to his missing eye, is tasked with arresting his old friend Hank Danner, who is suspected of a bank robbery. However, Danner is killed by a crooked saloon owner, and Morgan is accused of the crime despite lacking evidence. The real culprit remains at large, and the bank's stolen loot remains missing. A young man, Carl, who was helped by Danner in the past, seeks revenge against Morgan, who he believes is responsible for his friend's death.
