Phil Daley, a powerful gangster, has wealth and material possessions, but lacks respect from his parents and his love interest, Susan Warren. His younger brother Danny joins the gang, and his ambition leads to a fixed prize-fight, causing rival gang-leader Mike Luger to lose heavily. Mike, believing Phil betrayed him, sends hitmen to kill Phil, but they mistakenly kill Danny instead. Fearing for his life, Phil flees to a rural hideout, where his trusted lieutenant Sid sets a trap for him upon his return.
