On a sinking luxury liner, a group of over twenty survivors must make a desperate bid for survival in a lifeboat designed for only nine. The diverse group, including an opera singer, a nuclear physicist, a General, a playwright, and a gambler, among others, must navigate treacherous waters and a dwindling supply of food and water as a hurricane looms. As tensions rise, the executive officer must make impossible choices to ensure the survival of some, while others face a tragic fate.
