Newspaper reporter turned detective Mike and his partner Eddie take on a domestic investigation case involving a woman, Muriel, who has left her husband Leo Stark for another man, Gerald Messenger. However, things take a deadly turn when Muriel's first husband, Mr. Norton, claims she is his wife and is killed with a sword umbrella. As more bodies pile up, including Messenger and his ex-girlfriend Stella, Mike and Eddie must unravel the complex web of relationships and motives to uncover the truth behind the murders.
