Lee Leslie, a fugitive, is pursued by three groups: the police, gangsters who fear his testimony, and an insurance company seeking to protect its $1,000,000 policy on him. The company hires Dan Miller to track Leslie down, while a nightclub singer, Ruby Patterson, informs the gangsters of his whereabouts. As Leslie evades capture, the gang kidnaps his sister and mother, prompting him to prioritize rescuing them before surrendering to the authorities.
