The town of Gibsons on BC's Sunshine Coast is struggling to recover from economic downturn. Dave MacGonigal, the owner of Molly's Reach café, is planning a charity hockey match to help the town have a Merry Christmas. The match will feature the town's recreational team and a team of ex-pro players. However, things take a turn when Dave discovers that the agent handling the arrangements is actually a bigger con artist than himself. Meanwhile, Donna MacGonigal, Dave's daughter and business partner, is offered a lucrative business opportunity that may take her away from Gibsons.
