The Great Plague background

The Great Plague

A review of the Great Plague in London during 1665 and its comparison with the spread of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

In 1665, Britain experienced another devastating plague called the Great Plague, which claimed 100,000 lives in London alone - a staggering 25% of the population. This pandemic also took a heavy toll across other parts of the country. Archaeologist Raksha Dave, journalist John Sergeant, and medical historian Xand van Tulleken embarked on an extraordinary journey to uncover hidden connections between this plague and its origins 355 years prior to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
