Quatermass

In the near future, civilization has disintegrated to its most basic remnants, with young people forming gangs in the ruins of cities like London. However, the most perplexing Earthlings are the "Planet People," who follow plumb-bobs to sacred sites and await their "take-up" by an unknown force. Professor Quatermass (Sir John Mills) searches for his granddaughter and teams up with Joe Kapp (Simon MacCorkindale),a scientist attempting to analyze strange signals from space using the last functioning electronic equipment. They encounter the "Planet People" at a nearby stone circle, where they witness a mysterious light and signal. The plot could be Russian, Nirvana-inspired, or something even more sinister.
