Black Narcissus

Adaptation of Rumer Godden's 1939 novel, set against the backdrop of a challenging and forbidding Himalayan palace, where a group of nuns strive to establish themselves as the first convent.

During British rule in India, an ambitious young nun named Sister Clodagh leads a mission into a remote Himalayan region. The palace at Mopu was donated by General Toda Rai, who wants the Sisters of St. Faith to rid the 'House of Women' of his late sister's unhappy memories.
