A free-spirited 37-year-old lesbian, Tru, is unable to commit to a relationship or job for long, until she meets Alice, a 60-year-old widow who is visiting her daughter in town. Despite their age difference, Tru and Alice form an unlikely friendship that blossoms into something more. However, their daughter, Suzanne, a busy corporate lawyer and Tru's friend, becomes increasingly uneasy about their growing bond and tries to intervene, leading to escalating tensions.
