Sam Archer, the head coach of Merrivale College's sports teams, is under pressure to perform, and his job is at risk. He sees a solution in Nanu, a gifted athlete from Africa, who possesses incredible speed, strength, and agility. Nanu was raised by a witch doctor in the jungle after his missionary parents died. Sam and his assistant Milo convince Nanu to attend Merrivale, but with conditions. Nanu faces challenges adjusting to Western life and discovers the truth behind his arrival at the school. As he navigates his athletic life, Nanu must decide what he wants, which may include his tutor Jane.
