The Wind & the Reckoning background

The Wind & the Reckoning

During a leprosy outbreak in 19th-century colonial Hawai'i, a courageous group of infected Native Hawaiians rebels against government mandates of isolation, confronting the provisional government. Inspired by historical events.

During the spread of leprosy among the Native Hawaiian population, the colonial government banished those suspected of infection to Moloka'i. However, when cowboy Ko'olau and his son Kalei were diagnosed, they refused to give in, leading to a deadly clash with white authorities. Hunted and on the run, Ko'olau and his family found refuge in a hidden valley, teaming up with other refugees. As they faced off against mercenaries, including a Civil War hero, Ko'olau and Pi'ilani became legendary heroes in this epic tale from Hawaii's past.
