The Wild Scene background

The Wild Scene

A psychiatrist explores the complexities of the youth generation through five case studies, delving into the generational divide between the counterculture movement and the conservative values of their parents, with a personal twist as her own story is also examined.

A psychiatrist writes a book about her cases involving the hedonistic and idealistic youth of the 1960s. The story follows several families and individuals, including a daughter who discovers her mother's infidelity and develops an incestuous desire for her father, two sisters who lose their grip on reality at a drug party, and a teenage girl who is pimped out by a top cat. Meanwhile, a submissive old man discovers his young mistress has left him for a woman, and the psychiatrist's own daughter becomes involved with a hippie political radical who may be hiding secrets.
