In the heart of New York, two gamblers and restaurant owners, Dante and Cecil, run a thriving establishment. Among their employees is Monte, a charming but untruthful bartender from Britain, who sees marriage as a means to secure a visa. Lucy, a waitress with a hidden talent for escape artistry, is hesitant to showcase her skills publicly. Her best friend, Viv, a fellow waitress, shares an apartment with Lucy and has designed a unique brassiere. As the trio forms an unlikely bond, they hatch a plan to rob the restaurant, which inadvertently boosts its popularity. However, Dante's deception forces Lucy into an unexpected marriage proposal.
