In the 1960s, a massive building project is underway in Italy's northern region, while a group of speleologists ventures into the unexplored Calabrian plateau, delving 700 meters into one of the world's deepest caves. Unbeknownst to the villagers, the intruders' journey is being watched by an old shepherd, whose life becomes intertwined with theirs as they explore the unknown.
