Erik, an architecture lecturer, inherits a large old house in Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, and his wife Anna suggests inviting friends to live with them to spice up their marriage. The house soon fills with a dozen people, who make collective decisions, discuss, and socialize, but also clash due to their quirks. The arrangement is threatened when Erik falls for his student Emma, who moves in, and their 14-year-old daughter Freja observes the drama and seeks her own path.
