Tom Collier's life of luxury and obligation suffocates him after he marries Cecelia instead of his true love, Daisy. He's forced to prioritize profits over passion in his writing and is surrounded by the monotony of his social circle. To make matters worse, his old friend now serves as his butler, and Cecelia demands he be fired. In a desperate attempt to recapture his lost feelings, Tom reaches out to Daisy, only to be rebuffed and left to protect both himself and Daisy from the pain of their past.
