In a small town near Madrid, two single and carefree siblings, Paquita and Venancio, are controlled by their overbearing older sister Ignacia, who has yet to marry. When Ignacia confides in someone about her plan to liquidate the family's assets, Paquita overhears and learns that her sister intends to use the money to travel to Paris with a mysterious partner, leaving her and Venancio behind.
