Roaring City background

Roaring City

Dennis O'Brien is tasked with betting on an aging boxer, Harper, against Lundy, with the bets being placed under the name Steve Belzig. Tragically, Lundy dies of a blood clot during the fight. Following the bout, Dennis discovers Gannon and Lundy's bodies at Barton's hotel.

In the world of underground boxing, a complex web of deceit and corruption unfolds. Dennis O'Brien, a hired fixer, becomes embroiled in a scheme to rig a fight between Harper and Lundy, with Barton and Gannon pulling the strings. But when Lundy dies unexpectedly, Dennis is accused of murder and must clear his name by uncovering the truth behind the fixed fight. As he delves deeper, he discovers a tangled web of connections and motives, leading him to question everyone's involvement. In a second, equally sinister case, Dennis is hired to pose as Ted Fallon, the husband of Sylvia, a wealthy socialite. But when the real Ted is found dead, and later, his associates Eddie and Bill Rafferty, Dennis is accused of the crimes. As he navigates this new web of deceit, he uncovers a plot involving stolen bonds, a planned escape, and a trail of bodies. With the help of his friend, Professor Shicker, Dennis must unravel the truth behind the murders and bring the perpetrators to justice.
