A mysterious figure, Esteban, enters a quiet desert town, signing in at the local hotel as "Gene Gere", coincidentally the name of an FBI agent investigating the same drug deal. As the agent tries to locate Esteban, the sheriff begins to suspect the stranger's involvement in shady activities.
