Sir Nicholas "Nicky" Winton, a young London broker, rescued 669 predominantly Jewish children from the Nazis in the months leading up to World War II. In December 1938, he visited Prague, finding families fleeing Nazi persecution, living in dire conditions and under threat of invasion. With time running out, Nicky and his team worked to rescue as many children as possible before borders closed. Years later, Nicky still grappled with guilt over the children he couldn't save, until a surprise reunion with adult survivors on a BBC TV show brought him closure.
