A young schoolteacher, Rachel Clark, inherits a map to a gold mine from her late father and heads to a small western town, where she teams up with a local gunman-turned-lawyer named Steve Turner to find the treasure. However, they're not the only ones after the map, as a lesbian hotel owner, Miss Mollie, and a cattle rustler, Craig Benson, will stop at nothing to get their hands on it.
