An old man, Chachaji, and his young daughter Kusum search for a new home after their house is repossessed. A young man, Ramprasad, helps a superstitious widower, Bhavani Shankar, reclaim his ancestral home. When Chachaji and Kusum arrive at the house, they are met with resistance from the estate manager, Gajanan Babu. However, he is charmed by Kusum and proposes marriage, causing chaos as multiple suitors vie for her hand.
