His parents, Mira and Dae-su, in their early 30s, who had him at 17, act immature but hide their sorrow. As A-Reum's time runs out, they appear on a TV show to raise money for his medical care. His TV appearance sparks attention, and he befriends a teenage girl with a similar disease through letters. However, his body continues to deteriorate, and he loses his vision.
