Growing up in San Francisco's Mission district, Che Rivera, a reformed inmate and recovering alcoholic, has had to be tough to survive. As a respected figure in the barrio, he's built a reputation for his masculinity, strength, and love of lowrider cars. With his only son Jes, whom he's raised alone since his wife's passing, Che's worked to redeem his life. However, when he discovers Jes is gay, Che's path to redemption is put to the test. To survive his neighborhood, Che has always relied on his fists, but to be a complete man, he must confront a side of himself he's never shown.
