Akshay Kumar's character, Badshah, is adopted by Shakti Kapoor and grows up to be a criminal. He meets Karisma Kapoor's character, Sapna, and their lives become intertwined. After committing a crime, Badshah takes a child to Sapna, but Inspector Pradhan intervenes and he must escape. He changes his identity and becomes a blacksmith, building a new life with the child. However, his past catches up with him and he is forced to confront his past and make a difficult decision about the child's future.
