Don Martin, a talented hockey player, is forced to leave the game after hitting a referee. He finds a new career with Buzz Fletcher's ice-show as a novelty act, thanks to Chris's help. As Don's skills improve, he and Chris fall in love and get married. However, Gale also has feelings for Don, and when he gets a chance to join Jack's prestigious show, Gale persuades him to drink, rendering him unfit to skate. With Don out of commission, Chris takes center stage, impressing Jack and landing a spot in his show. Don sacrifices his relationship with Chris to allow her to pursue stardom.
