In October 2019, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, was a town in decline, with high unemployment rates and decaying hotels along the beach front. The local turkey factories attracted hundreds of Portuguese migrant workers, seeking jobs that no one else wanted. Amidst this backdrop, Tânia, a former poultry plant worker, now married to an English hotel owner, dreamed of a better life. She wanted to transform her husband's hotels into senior citizens' homes, but her plans were disrupted by the arrival of a new group of immigrants for the Christmas season.
