Désirée

In 1794, Marseilles, France, a young millinery clerk, Desiree Clary, falls for Napoleon Bonaparte, but ends up marrying General Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, who later joins the forces that bring down Napoleon. Meanwhile, Joséphine de Beauharnais, a courtesan, marries Napoleon and becomes Empress, but is eventually replaced when she fails to produce an heir.
