Sgt. Major John Frost returns home from his last deployment a month early due to a PTSD incident, eager to spend Christmas with his family. However, he finds his wife and son too busy to give him the welcome he anticipates. His wife, Jill, has adopted a dog named Charlie, which John isn't fond of. As Jill's catering business struggles to pay the bills, John finds solace with fellow vets at the Moose Lodge. He discovers a homeless Vietnam veteran, Hank, living in a tented camp with Captain Jack. John rallies his friends, family, and community to build a new house for the vets and give them a warm Christmas Eve, finding his purpose in the process.
