In the city of Athens, Duke Theseus is set to marry Queen Hyppolyta of the Amazons. Meanwhile, Demetrius is engaged to Hermia, but she's secretly in love with Lysander, who reciprocates her feelings. Helena, however, has a crush on Demetrius. The fairy king Oberon and queen Titania are at odds over the fate of a child Titania is raising, with Oberon using magic to try and claim the boy. In the forest, Lysander and Hermia meet in secret, while Helena and Demetrius also appear, along with a group of actors rehearsing a play for the royal wedding. Chaos ensues when Puck's mischievous meddling causes a series of misunderstandings.
