Harold Thomas Wright is a talented American television and theatre actor, boasting an extensive career spanning over four decades. He has graced the stage in more than 40 productions, including numerous Broadway shows. Wright's journey in the performing arts began as an original member of The People's Light and Theater Company, situated outside of Philadelphia.
He also spent four years at the prestigious National Playwrights Conference and two summers at the renowned Sundance Institute. Wright's Broadway credits include the Tony Award-nominated production of A Taste of Honey. Some of the notable theaters he has appeared in include the American Place Theater, Manhattan Theater Club, New York Theater Workshop, Actors Theater of Louisville, Center Stage, Yale Repertory Theater, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Hartford Stage, Los Angeles Stage and Film, and Theatre De La Jeune Lune in Minneapolis, where he starred alongside Steve Guttenberg in the production of Farthest From The Sun.
In addition to his stage work, Wright has also made a mark in the film industry. In 1987, he appeared in the horror film Creepshow 2, playing the role of a hitchhiker. He later co-starred alongside Ice Cube in the feature films Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business. Wright also co-starred with Angela Bassett in the film Sunshine State, which was written and directed by John Sayles. This marked the fifth time Wright had collaborated with Sayles, following his roles in Passion Fish, City of Hope, Matewan, and The Brother from Another Planet.
In 2000, Wright received the Best Actor Award at the Santa Monica Film Festival for his portrayal of John Shed in the indie film Dumbarton Bridge. Throughout his career, Wright has also appeared in several television programs, but he is perhaps most famous for his roles as Mr. Morgan, the co-worker of George Costanza (Jason Alexander) on Seinfeld, and as the hybrid alien Tuvix in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Tuvix".
