Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara, a Colombian and American actress and model, was born on July 10, 1972. She rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a co-host on Spanish-language television network Univision, and her subsequent acting career in English began with the film Chasing Papi in 2003.
Vergara's notable roles include Four Brothers in 2005, Tyler Perry's comedies Meet the Browns in 2008 and Madea Goes to Jail in 2009, for which she received an ALMA Award nomination.
