Shameik Alti Moore, born on May 4, 1995, is a multifaceted American artist of Jamaican heritage, effortlessly transitioning between acting, singing, and rapping.
Moore's early career was marked by small but notable roles on television shows such as Tyler Perry's House of Payne, Reed Between the Lines, and Joyful Noise, showcasing his versatility as a young performer.
In 2013, he landed his first significant television role on the sketch-comedy series Incredible Crew, which aired on Cartoon Network before being cancelled after a single season.
However, it was his breakout performance as Malcolm in the 2015 film Dope that garnered widespread recognition and praise. The film premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, where Indiewire included Moore on its list of "The 12 Major Breakouts of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival" for his outstanding portrayal.
Moore's subsequent success led to his casting as one of the five male leads in the Netflix series The Get Down, which premiered in 2016 and unfortunately, was cancelled after only one half-season.
Moreover, Moore has lent his voice to the iconic character Miles Morales / Spider-Man in the animated Spider-Verse film franchise, bringing the character to life in both the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its 2023 sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. He is set to reprise his role in the upcoming third film, titled Beyond the Spider-Verse, further solidifying his status as a talented and in-demand artist.
