Russell Wayne Harvard, an American actor, was born on April 16, 1981. He made his feature film debut in the critically acclaimed movie There Will Be Blood, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, in 2007. In this film, Harvard played the role of H.W. Plainview, the adopted son of Daniel Day-Lewis's character, Eli Sunday, also known as Plainview.
In 2010, Harvard starred in the biographical drama film The Hammer, where he portrayed Matt Hamill, a deaf NCAA championship wrestler and UFC mixed martial arts fighter. His impressive performance in this film showcased his versatility as an actor.
Off-Broadway, Harvard won widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Billy, the deaf son in an intellectual, yet dysfunctional, hearing British family, in Nina Raine's play Tribes. For his outstanding performance, Harvard received a 2012 Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance and nominations for the Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor.
In addition to his work in film and theater, Harvard has also had a successful television career. He played the role of Mr. Wrench in the first and third seasons of the critically acclaimed television series Fargo.
