Ricardo López-Nuño Díez, widely recognized by his stage name Ricardo Palacios, was a multi-talented Spanish individual, excelling as an actor, film director, and screenwriter. Born in the picturesque town of Reinosa, located in the autonomous community of Cantabria, Spain, Palacios pursued his passion for the performing arts by graduating from the prestigious Official Film School in Madrid, specializing in both acting and direction.
Palacios' professional journey began in 1961 with a notable appearance in the television series Poly, marking the beginning of his illustrious career. Throughout his lifetime, he actively participated in approximately 150 films and television series, with a significant emphasis on the popular Spaghetti Western genre. Moreover, he frequently collaborated with renowned film director Jesús Franco, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and reliable artist.
In addition to his acting career, Palacios also ventured into filmmaking, making his directorial debut in 1987 with the comedy film ¡Biba la Banda!, starring the celebrated Spanish actor Alfredo Landa. His expertise in direction was further showcased in 1997 with the television series La Banda de Pérez.
Tragically, Palacios' life was cut short due to heart problems, which led to his prolonged hospitalization for over a month. Despite his valiant efforts to recover, he ultimately succumbed to heart failure on February 11, 2015, leaving behind a legacy of his remarkable contributions to the world of Spanish cinema.
