Born on September 19th in Nicosia, Cyprus, I was the proud offspring of Greek Cypriot parents. My father, a skilled electrician by trade, had a passion for entrepreneurship and ultimately abandoned his profession to open his own nightclub in Nicosia. This entrepreneurial venture was a bold move, as it coincided with a tumultuous period in Cyprus' history, marked by a British coup and the country's ongoing British occupation.
As I took my first breath, my father sensed the impending turmoil and made the difficult decision to uproot our family and relocate to the United Kingdom. We settled in England, where my father once again pursued his passion for the nightclub business. Little did he know, this era was also marked by the rise of protection rackets, an experience that would leave a lasting impact on my life.
The memories of those times still linger, and I believe they have shaped the person I am today. My wife and I met at the tender age of 16 and exchanged vows at 23. We remain deeply in love, blessed with three wonderful children and now five delightful grandchildren.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story and reflect on the Crappers, a nostalgic portrayal of the 1960s and 1970s, replete with larger-than-life characters. As I look back, I am filled with a sense of contentment, surrounded by loved ones and the rich heritage of the past.
